Lawo mc²66 in the Triofilm HD/SD TV OB van.
Successful first operation during 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany™.
Lawo’s mc²66 audio mixing console is at the audio heart of the 14-camera HD/SD TV OB van owned by Triofilm. The new OB van had its debut at the start of the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany™ on 9th June. Every day, it broadcast Premiere TV’s "World Cup studio" with presentations and talk shows, covering the soccer event from the Anchor glass studio in the temporary adventure park close to Berlin’s Reichstag.
The 16+8+16 console, featuring a Broadcast Solutions panel fitted in the control surface, has a capacity of 2 x 48 DSP channels. The console’s core provides up to 128 AES I/Os, 128 analogue inputs, 56 microphone inputs and 138 analogue outputs. The MADI-redundant stage boxes comprise three DALLIS frames that can be positioned anywhere on the production stage; their PSUs also have in-built redundancy. Triofilm chose the Lawo mc²66 particularly for its functionality, comprehensive redundancy options as well as its market presence. Additionally, the mc²66 console offered a perfect interface to the Riedel talkback system, and Riedel control panels can be operated remotely via Lawo stage boxes.
The 16.50m long, 2.55m wide and 4.00m high OB van is equipped with a 10m extendable side wall that increases the internal working area to 51m2. The different control rooms (prep room, slomo facility, video and audio control), the VTR bay and the equipment room have space for up to 15 operators/engineers.
Triofilm is a technical service provider of TV broadcasts. They operate mainly in the field of sports events, for example Germany’s 1st/2nd Soccer League, and the UEFA Champions League. In addition, TV shows are often produced using Triofilm’s mobile control rooms. The van bodywork was built by Gloria Fahrzeugbau Bierewirtz GmbH & Co KG; the internal technical fittings were provided and installed by Broadcast Solutions GmbH.
