Good morning Singapore.
mc²66 at Mediacorp TV provides a good start to the day
When updating and replacing their technical equipment, Mediacorp TV in Singapore have chosen Lawo. Since recently, a mc²66 console has been in use in Mediacorp’s Studio 3. The studio is mainly used to produce news for ‘Channel NewsAsia’, Asia’s most important news channel, as well as material for the ‘Good Morning Singapore’ show.
This new installation is the first mc²66 console for Mediacorp TV. Mediacorp Radio, however, has successfully been using seven Lawo zirkon mixing consoles for several years now.
The mc²66 provides a 16-8-8 frame and an HD Core with 3,000 routing crosspoints, as well as two DALLIS I/O systems. The system has been customised by Lawo to meet the customer’s high demands for an extremely flexible news studio.
Mediacorp’s TV station output is produced ‘back-to-back’, ie. almost without interruption. This is only practical with a mixing console whose configuration can be changed within seconds, by the simple press of a button. This requirement was fulfilled by Lawo, as well as the request to have an intercom backup facility. In the case of a studio intercom system failure, the mc²66 will completely take over the intercom function. The console’s extremely flexible system configuration, which makes this backup level possible, was one of the reasons Mediacorp decided to choose Lawo. In addition, Lawo offers an excellent on-site technical support service in Singapore.
Mediacorp is the largest TV and Radio company based in Singapore, whose programmes are broadcast in English, Mandarin, Tamil and Malay.
