New technology for Life Radio.
In autumn 2006, Life Radio Tirol moved from Rum to Innsbruck – into a new building owned by their parent company Moser Holding. This was a good opportunity to completely replace the old technology, and the premises were soon adapted to meet their new requirements.
Swiss Lawo partner J+C Intersonic managed the move and the modernisation project right from the beginning, delivered the hardware and created the required system configuration. The installation includes two zirkon systems, one Nova17, used as central matrix for the two on-air studios, and diverse IDT sound processors.
Functions such as off-air recording, a traffic message channel, pre-fader conferencing, and many more, were implemented and fine-tuned to the customer’s requirements. Additional 4-fader consoles were integrated with the zirkon systems to provide separate editing work stations – another custom feature.
Life Radio went successfully on-air on 4th November 2006 and, just recently, Georg Blamauer, Technical Director of Life Radio Tirol, told us enthusiastically: “The zirkon is extremely stable in operation! Even the most extraordinary workflows can be realized with the configuration that has been implemented.”
