ERF is the first broadcast customer of J+C Intersonic AG, Lawo’s Swiss partner, where a radio automation system plays out directly to a zirkon console via MADI. With regard to the financial and technical aspects of this installation, linking the radio automation via MADI is a real treat, since the fibre-optic connections can provide 64 audio channels (I/O) – and all that is included in the basic price of the zirkon master board!
Felix Geeler, Technical Director of Life Channel, recently stated: “The zirkon is a first choice, particularly for non-commercial broadcasters like us who have always had to fight budget restraints. The comprehensive integration with our radio automation system saved us much effort when interfacing to the rest of the installation, not only the audio channels but also, and particularly, control functions via the SAS Monitora protocol.
